As lifelong disciples and followers of Jesus, we’re always learning and growing in our faith.
Gabor Szabo
Pastor
I have been serving the Canberra-Queanbeyan Lutheran Parish for nine years. It is a great joy and privilege to proclaim the Gospel and administer the Sacraments in the heart of Canberra to a very diverse but dedicated congregation.
I was born and educated in Budapest, Hungary. I came to Australia with my wife Annamaria in 1987. Later our family expanded with two sons in the mid-nineties. I was able to continue my theological studies, which I had already started in Hungary, and pursued my further studies in Sydney and Adelaide, where I was ordained in 2002.
One of my favourite passages is in Luke’s Gospel: “Were not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?” (24:32) I think it describes accurately our Christian existence as we are on a pilgrim journey and Christ walks with us.
