As the writer and commentator G.K. Chesterton contended in 1932, <strong>\u201cThe truth is that Irreligion is the opium of the people. Wherever the people do not believe in something beyond the world, they will worship the world. But, above all, they will worship the strongest thing in the world.\u201d<\/strong> Today the strongest thing in the world is Big Technology. Until we stop worshiping at the temple of Saints Peter or Elon or Zuck or Marc, we will be trapped in the future they want.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The gap between the church and the culture has resulted in a relaxing of the liturgy.\u00a0 This in turn has made the church more worldly and has lost its sense of awe and mystery.\u00a0 Sunday is little more than an evangelical effort moving towards a non-descript non-denominational bible study group.\u00a0 We are losing the concept of a ritual re-enactment of spiritual reality.\u00a0 What motivation is there for believers seeking a spiritual and theological experience.\u00a0 The itimidating reverence of the almighty &#8211; the great, powerful and beautiful.\u00a0 \u00a0The churches history and reverence due to God.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The men who are inventing this world of super machine intelligence and biological engineering tend not to believe in religion.
